St Nicholas Church, Nottingham\"\"<\/td>In alignment with National UKHK, this project will support HKBN(O) in three areas:\u00b7 Educational Integration\u00b7 Professional Integration\u00b7 Social IntegrationIn Nottingham we are working across Chinese and Non-Chinese churches to ensure the wider integration across communities. VCSE Year 3 funding priorities<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

The East Midlands Welcome Hub would like to work with Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise organisations to help HKBNO:<\/p>\n\n

  • Develop English language skills for socialising<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Access housing<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Access physical health services<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Access mental health services<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Integrate into their local communities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

    Our priority for any VCSEs to support the work of the Welcome Hub, is direct engagement within communities; providing meaningful activities for families and individuals to create a feeling of ‘belonging’.This activity needs to be bespoke in that it is empathetic of the needs of Hong Kong BNO and can be tailored to help this new community integrate more quickly.We would want to build on the success of programmes funded in Years 1 and 2 which have provided specific integration activities for young people\/teenagers and older BNOs who are not looking for work and therefore have less social connections in the community.We would also like to see VCSEs come forward with plans to support BNO wellbeing needs.This work needs to be focussed on the main settlement areas as previously outlined but with potential for outreach where needed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
