Year 4 funding priorities

In March 2024, UK government announced its 4th year of funding for the UK-wide Welcome Programme to support BN(O) status holders. This includes grant funding for Welcome Hubs to support Hong Kong BNO Visa Holders and in the East Midlands, we will be focussing our support in these areas:

Employment

We know that those on the BN(O) route want to find and secure jobs as soon as they arrive. This guarantees an income and also provides opportunities to integrate into your new community.

There are many benefits in helping you to access employment at the right skill level, both for your own wellbeing and for the wider community. Employment support can help you understand the UK job market, transfer existing skills and qualifications, and find relevant training and study options.

Mental Health and Wellbeing

A recent survey from British Future has shown that Hong Kong BNO physical and emotional wellbeing levels are generally good, but anxiety about future life in the UK is also a common source of stress. Many also have concerns for friends and family they have left behind, and about the social and political climate in Hong Kong.
