Applicants and VISA Holders

We would like to wish a warm welcome to all Hong Kong British National (Overseas) visa holders and applicants to the East Midlands. We are a diverse area, centrally located in the UK and include the following main towns and cities:

This site is for you and will provide links to the information you need to arrive and settle in our area. We welcome your feedback and would love to hear from you if you have any suggestions to improve our website.

If you are from Hong Kong and a British National (Overseas), you and your family members can apply for a British National (overseas) visa. This is known as a BNO visa. It allows you to live, work and study in the UK.

You can find more information about applying for the visa on the Government webpages. There is also an online Welcome Pack for all BN(O) status holders with information, translated into Cantonese, on how to access services and understand life in the UK.

The UK Government is also providing funding for local authorities and regional Strategic Migration Partnerships to support new arrivals. The Strategic Migration Partnerships cover 12 areas in the UK.

Here at the East Midlands Strategic Migration Partnership, we cover the geographical county areas of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland. The map to the right hand side features links to information and services in your area, just click on an area to be taken to the relevant web page.
